Burundi makes nickel debut

lanthanide project

A tiny country nestled on the shores of Lake Victoria, Burundi is slowly entering the global mining economy.
Two imminent projects are Muremera nickel, in the target outline stage, and Musongati, targeting nickel, cobalt, copper and platinum. These projects are in the Kabanga nickel area, near the border with Tanzania.
Dwyka Resources has secured full ownership of Muremera, and will proceed with extensive exploration.
The South Africa chrome producer, Samancor, is leading at Musongati, and have confirmed that this nickel deposit is of high quality.
More distant is a lanthanide project at Karonge, and a gold project at Buthinda, which is currently on hold.
